According to Press Association Sport, top flight sides are set to congregate on a video conference today [Friday, April 17] to thrash out plans for the remainder of the 2019/20 season.
While previous conference calls have focused on player wages, contracts and other logistical issues, this gathering is set to focus solely on how the fixture calendar can be concluded.

Reports suggest that as many as nine clubs are keen to see the league set a firm deadline as to when all games must be completed – to avoid any long-term contractual issues from a drawn-out season.
But according to PA Sport, ‘the proposal to have the season wrapped up by the end of June is not down as an agenda point on Friday, but the matter will surely be raised given the apparent number of supporters behind it.’
A number of leading clubs, however, are set to oppose any such plans - especially given FIFA’s desire to iron out contractual issues so that fixtures can be completed and the integrity of the league maintained.
