Newcastle United are being linked with a move for Napoli and Mexico striker Hirving Lozano.

The frontman has failed to make an impact in Serie A, following a big-money move from PSV Eindhoven.

And reports in Spain and Italy suggest the Magpies are in negotiations to sign the player when the transfer window in Europe reopens, presumably at the end of the 2019/20 Premier League season.

Lozano was a £40million signing by now Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti but has fallen out of favour under current Neapolitan manager Genaro Gattuso.

Meanwhile, Napoli have reportedly lowered their asking price for in-demand Kalidou Koulibaly.

The Senegal international has been linked with a summer move to St James’s Park but Napoli were thought to be asking in the region of £80million for the player, signed by ex-United boss Rafa Benitez in Naples.

Claims in Italy are that Koulibaly, also wanted by Manchester United, Liverpool and Real Madrid, will be available for £62million.
